// How to play
Each day, choose where Alice goes on the city map: home, school, the mall or a shift at Jim's shop. Click the dialogue box to move the conversation on, and the red arrow to leave a place or open the map. By day every choice costs or restores energy, health or money, and skipping school has a price. Go to bed and the city turns into its nightmare version, with its own dream, will, fear and wisdom, and abominations that ask riddles. The i button explains the screen, and the backpack holds what Alice buys or is given.
// The story
Barcelona, end of summer 2014. The flowers in Collserola gleamed under the sun and the waves broke on the Barceloneta, but Alice saw none of it: she spent the whole summer alone in her room. Now a new school year is about to start, with new classmates, and she is determined that this time her anxiety will not hold her back, even if she does not know where to start.
// Ludum Dare 30
Mandarina Games' Jam entry for Ludum Dare 30 (22–25 August 2014), whose theme was Connected Worlds, submitted by jukimv1986. The two connected worlds are Alice's days in the city and her nights in its nightmare.
It was made in Unity 4.6, still in beta, for the Unity Web Player, which browsers dropped long ago. It runs here as a WebGL build of the post-jam demo from September 2014, upgraded to Unity 6 in 2026: the same story, art and code. The first load is about 24 MB.
