A fan-made tribute to the Macrodata Refinement terminal from Severance (Apple TV+). Not affiliated with Apple, the show or its makers. The files, perks and tempers are homages; the rules for feeling the numbers are our own.

Refiner's handbook

Some of these numbers are scary. You will feel it before you understand it: they move differently from their neighbours, and they stir when your cursor comes near.

Refining

  1. Drag a box around a group of scary numbers.
  2. Send it to a bin: click or tap the bin, or press 1–5.
  3. Fill all five bins to complete the file.

The four tempers

Each bin wants only some of the tempers, each in its own measure. While you hold a box, the bins open to show what they want; a dim row is full. A bin refuses a temper it doesn't want or is already full of, and three refusals earn you a visit to the Break Room.

The first file holds only Woe and Frolic. Dread arrives in the second, Malice in the third.
